The Southern sky
When I first looked at the Southern sky from New Zealand I was … amazingly lost! There was actually not many stars I could really identify. Only Orion and Canis Majoris but … upside down!
I was a bit unlucky with the conditions in New Zealand, either cloudy nights or under light polluted places, so I didn’t have many opportunities to enjoy the Southern sky. Fortunately, I am in Valparaiso of Chile now, during summer with many clear nights, and I have just started to figure out where is what (like Carina). Still though, I miss the Magellanic Clouds…
